Beyond technique: the human side of the artists

“It feels like only yesterday that MFA Guitar Camp was just an idea, a thought I kept chasing in my mind. Today, we are at the fifth edition, and it is incredible how deep this event has become, carving out indelible memories. If we are still here, it is because we have confirmed a great truth: people come for the guitar, but they return for the people. The guitar is our passion, but it is the friendships born between one lesson and the next that make this Camp unique.“

“In these 15 years, I’ve been lucky enough to work with some real heavy hitters. I’ve put together Masterclasses and shows with legends like Andy Timmons, Guthrie Govan, Tommy Emmanuel, Robben Ford, Paul Gilbert, Greg Howe, and so many others. They are incredible pros, no doubt about it. But for me, the best part isn’t just what happens on stage or during the workshops. It’s the human side.

The late-night talks about life. The personal stories. At the end of the day, here, there’s no such thing as “artists” or “students.” We’re just people with the same basic need: to listen and to be heard. That’s why we get together to connect and share our journeys. Guitar is just what brings us all into the same room.”
